The MELSEC MX Controller is a next-genera on industrial automation on controller / PLC (programmable automation on controller) from Mitsubishi Electric. The MELSEC MX Controller integrates three types of control, sequence, motion, and network. A diversified and sophisticated system can be constructed by using the MX-R models with the MELSEC iQ-R Series modules, and the MX-F models with the MELSEC iQ-F Series modules.
The MELSEC MX Controller has two models: MX-R model and MX-F model.

It’s a programmable automation on controller (PAC / advanced PLC) combining three types of control in a single controller: sequence control, motion control, and network control. The controller uses a high-performance multi-core MPU (processor) under the hood enabling high-speed and precise motion + logic + network control together. MX-F is one of the two main sub-families in the MX Controller lineup (the other is MX-R). It is meant to serve as a compact, all-in-one controller suitable for device-level control or small to medium systems. MX-F has built-in I/O (bit I/O) no need for separate base-units or big module racks. Good for compact system needs. Integrated motion + logic + network control: Like its bigger counterpart, MX-F combines PLC (sequence), servo/pulse-control (motion), and network communication on (e.g. industrial Ethernet) giving flexibility and reducing hardware count.

Modular I/O series is ideal for application requiring flexible and cost-effective remote I/Os.
Modular I/O station can be formed by using required Header module, I/O modules and System modules required for it.
With different field bus Header modules and flexible I/Os, increases its adaptability in different network architecture greatly.
